This course provides an overview of business practices in an interdependent, integrated, global economic system. A focus is placed on understanding the opportunities and challenges that businesses must address in the face of globalization, with emphasis on best practices in international business.
ISYS 669 | Enterprise Information System Models
This course provides students an overview of information systems (IS), including the strategic role of IS, a process-oriented view of the organization, and its importance in relationships with suppliers, customers, and competitors. An overview is provided of how information systems contribute to effective management of processes in support of achieving strategic objectives and transforming an organization. The major focus is how organizations utilize information systems to address enterprise resource planning (ERP), supply chain management (SCM), customer relationship management (CRM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and social networks. Course content includes an overview of IS infrastructure and addresses key IS management topics. Students also learn the ethical and legal implications of using information systems.
FINC 619 | Financial Management
This course gives students an overview of financial management within organizations. The focus is on the theoretical valuation of stocks and bonds and the capital markets in which they are traded. There is also an emphasis on both the use of financial leverage by a firm and working capital management. The purpose is to enable managers to participate fully in financial decision-making.
IME 684 | Engineering Ethics
This course covers the professional and ethical considerations of an engineer in contemporary society. Discussions include the code of ethics for engineers, case studies on conflict of interest, team, engineering/management responsibilities, environmental considerations, and professional registration. This class requires live weekly discussion.
MGMT 639 | Managing People and Organizations
This course prepares students for management positions in various organizations. Students are introduced to concepts and issues concerning management and leadership of organizational staff. Subjects include technology-related leadership, organizational communication, change management, Lean thinking, human resource issues, decision-making, ethics, and persuasion.
MRKT 679 | Marketing Management
This course offers students a managerial perspective on how organizations understand and select target markets and then how they attract, retain, and grow customers within those selected markets. The course emphasizes a strategic perspective of how firms create, deliver, and communicate superior customer value for competitive advantage. Students gain an understanding of the analysis, planning, implementation, and control of activities to develop and sustain beneficial exchanges with target buyers.
MGMT 659 | Strategy
This course focuses on the formulation, implementation, and evaluation of organizational policy and strategy from the perspective of the senior manager/strategy planner. Additional consideration is given to information technology, global operations, ethics, legal perspectives, and the functional-level strategies of the organization. The final project is an integrative approach designed to have direct application to a current job or future career.

Domestic Admissions Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an approved, ABET-accredited engineering (not technology) or computing program or a É«»¢ÊÓÆµ degree other than management or business.
- Undergraduate degree with 3.0 on a 4.0 grading system or the international equivalent (85 overall grade point average on a 100-grade-point scale). A 2.5-2.99 GPA will be considered on a provisional basis.

- Three Professional Letters of Recommendation (one must be from a current supervisor)
- Official transcripts from a regionally accredited U.S. university or an international equivalent
- Up to 8 hours of transfer credits may be available
- No GRE or GMAT is required
International Admissions Requirements
In addition to the Domestic requirements, international requirements include:
- International students are required to submit educational documentation to an evaluation service such as Educational Perspectives, which is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). This will be at the expense of the student. É«»¢ÊÓÆµ undergraduate students need not submit their É«»¢ÊÓÆµ transcripts but are required to submit transcripts from any other university.
- International applicants whose native language is not English and who have not earned a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), MELAB (offered by the University of Michigan), or complete level 112 at an approved ELS center. Please have official scores sent to É«»¢ÊÓÆµâ€™s Office of Admissions, Code 1246. Photocopies will not be accepted.
